We are a registered society in Alberta, the only rescue center for horses in the Lakeland and Smoky Lake area.
We are planning on doing an open house on Aug 27th 2011, so people can visit the center and learn about us, learn about horse care and why we are in operation.
The event will be open to the public. We have some volunteers that are ready to help us for that big day. The event will be 10am to 3pm and we will have a chilli and a bun lunch with salad, drink *pop, water, coffee* and dessert. Lunch will be available at the cost of $5 (limited quantity, first come first serve) & we will have a few donation boxes on site. We will also organize a raffle with various items & a silent auction, so we can raise money for the center.
To keep going with our goal we need your help to promote our facility. We are always full and the demand is really high, as there are lots of horses in need. We want people to come out to our open house on the 27th so they can see firsthand that not only are we there to help by rescuing horses in trouble, our mission is also to help current and potential owners with education: to teach folks about the responsibilities that come with owning a horse and the care they need to provide. We feel that by doing this, (providing some education and a place to call when issues arise), we can effectively reduce the number of horses that need to be rescued. (Prevention is always better than the cure!)
Everyone is welcome! Lunch is available by reservation, or tickets may be purchased on a first come first serve basis during the event. Refreshments & snacks will also be available.
It will be a pleasure for us to promote any company that helps support us during our Open House. If you have any posters or flyers we will be happy to advertise your business at our event as well as on our website and Facebook page.
